Got the opportunity to try the delicious chicken thali from @khawakee.2010 yesterday. Started by Sharmishtha & Mandar Shinde, Khawakee has been serving Maharashtrian (CKP Style) Meal and festival food items in Pune since 2010.
As soon as I opened the parcel, I was impressed with the quantity. The thali has one chicken dish (fry/masala/gravy), egg curry, tambda rassa, plain rice, two chapatis/bhakri.
The chicken masala was definitely the showstealer for me. 😍 Khawakee uses all in-house masalas. In fact, they sell their special CKP masala. No wonder, the taste was so distinct. Moreover, the masalas for veg and non-veg preparations are different.
Also loved the egg curry. The gravy was of perfect consistency, and again the masala stood out, without being overpowering.
Their tambda rassa was perfect. Paired it with rice and little bit of chicken masala, and I was in heaven. A lot of places serve watery or oily tambda rassa, so I was particularly impressed with this. 😋
The chapatis are huge, rice fresh, and two people can easily share this thali.
They have a takeaway/delivery kitchen near Swargate, Pune and most of the dishes are prepared on advance orders in a very homely manner and environment, with love and care.
Khawakee has been particular about the ingredients since the very beginning. Only refined oil is used in preparation of all their delicacies, with an added flavour of pure ghee to some special items like Chicken Biryani.
Overall, I was really impressed by the quality and taste of their food. Cannot wait to explore more of their dishes! 😍
