Khawakee has been serving Maharashtrian (CKP Style) Meal and festival food items in Pune since 2010. They have a takeaway / delivery kitchen near Swargate, Pune. Most of the dishes are prepared on advance order in a very homely manner and environment.
The gravy for chicken and veg dishes is distinct in both its ingredients and preparation. Best part is they also make their own masala, which they sell as CKP Masala.
Here is what all I tried from their menu-
Special mention first is their unique item- Chicken Thalipeeth : It is a great fusion of traditional Maharashtrian Thalipeeth and modern fast food preparation. The Thalipeeth is made from a mixture of various nutritious grains and pulses and has shredded chicken chunks in it.
Biryani - Flavorful and aromatic. Right amount of spices. The use of ghee was prominent. Very nice!
Rassa - Not too thin which is a good thing. It had chicken stock and perfect roasted flavour of vatan(curry paste)
Chicken dry - Not so spicy and addictive flavour. Typical CKP style flavour profile.
Methi Chicken - Nice gravy consistency. Methi was adequate and cooked nicely. They have nailed it!
They have vegetarian dishes as well. And in non veg they do serve several chicken dishes.
